There was a huge disagreement in the Gunners camp if the Russian Czar will be a high-quality signing for Arsenal. He had by no means proved to be a big player previous to last season in which he went with Zenit St Petersburg to collect the UEFA cup. He pulled some attention with his performances on club level. However he got the attention of the world after his displays in Euro2008, especially his destructive performance against Holland. Lets not forget Hollands performance in Euro2008, they put World Cup winners the Italian and World Cup runner ups France to shame with the their remarkable performances on the pitch. Barcelona were not convinced in him, Manchester United's boss Alex Ferguson doubted Arsene Wenger for buying him instead on focusing on a strong holding midfielder. peaking late in his career, Arshavin didn't have many people who believed in his capabilities.

Arsene Wenger made a huge error for not signing Arshavin before end of August. From the time when Arshavin joined and played his initial game in the gunners shirt in February 2009, he made a huge bang. In his first 10 games he scored 6 goals along with 5 assists. He boosted Arsenal's game and from being 5th in the season, Arsenal are currently sitting very comfortably in 4th spot away from pressure of Aston Villa. Being 27 years old he wasn't the kind of player Arsene Wenger would acquire, but as we all know Wenger can mark a talent from 100 miles and knew this little Russian magician can give a new aspect. How fortunate were Arsenal to sign him right on the deadline.

His explosive performance against Liverpool did show the world that he has all what it takes to develop into a football legend. In that game he scored 4 goals, but the special thing about those 4 goals was that he scored all of them at Anfield, the soil of Liverpool. Certainly I can’t remember a single player who performed as he did in that game particularly facing an opponent who are title contenders and fighting Man Utd for the top place.

It did not end here, when Arsenal played away to Portsmouth, he was influential in getting the 3-0 score assisting, producing a penalty and a red card for the opponent team and key passing and playing in the 3rd goal playing with a squad in the same team aged between 17 years old Ramsey and the oldest 24 years old Eboue. Arsenal will miss him deeply when facing Manchester United in the semi final of Champions League

What could have Arshavin done if he had been a Gunner at the start of the season? Thats a question that we all wonder what the answer is to, everyone have their own answer so let us know what do you think.

Arshavin was a brilliant signing and has made a huge impact for the Gunners already - most notably was his 4 goals against Liverpool.
